FAQ

What kind of classes do you offer?
We offer a huge variety of classes – whether it’s cuisine or technique based – and you can find all current classes here. If you don’t see something you are interested in, let us know, as we try to keep current on what people want to learn!

Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?
Yes! We can accommodate most dietary restrictions such as vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, etc. in most classes, however we cannot accommodate Kosher if a fully Kosher kitchen is required (BUT we can omit things like pork & shellfish and separate meat/dairy). In order for us to accommodate, please input your restrictions in the “additional notes” section during checkout. If you have specific questions about this you can email us at info@abigailskitchennyc.com

Do you do private events and if so, what are the details?
Yes we do private events all the time! Our Abigail’s Kitchen space can accommodate up to 24 people for a private Cooking Class or private Dinner in the Dark. Pricing and more details can be seen HERE.

If you have more than 24 people, we can also do private events in our sister space Betty, which is at the same location as Abigail’s Kitchen. It’s main job is as a delicious restaurant but we can either close the space (we have a $4500 minimum to do so) or have your event in a sectioned off part of the space. Reach out directly for more details on this option.

Menus for private Cooking Classes are mostly based on any of our current class offerings. If you don’t see what you’re after, let us know. We’re happy to customize a menu to suit your needs!

What is your cancellation policy?
Tickets can be fully refunded up to a week before the class. If less than a week, you may reschedule or request a refund, with a $25 per ticket fee. If within 48 hours of class, there will be no refunds issued or rescheduling allowed (but tickets are transferable).

Help! I can no longer attend the class I signed up for – can I move to another?
We understand people are busy and plans change. If you find yourself needing to reschedule, we can help with that. To move to another class, email us at info@abigailskitchennyc.com with your original order number and what class you want to be moved to and we will take care of it. Be sure to refer to the cancellation policy above to see if you qualify.

Where are you located?
We are located on Manhattan’s Lower East Side, close to the East Broadway (F) stop. Our address is 193 Henry St, NYC

Do you do in-home cooking classes?
While we are very busy holding cooking classes at our location, sometimes we are able to accommodate this. Please contact us directly to inquire.

Do you sell gift cards?
Yes we do and cooking classes or Dinners in the Dark make great gifts! You can buy a digital gift card HERE for any amount you’d like.

How does a typical class run?
Our classes are 3 hours long and that breaks down into: welcome and class rundown with instructor, preparation of all ingredients that go into making your meal, cooking/assembly of all dishes, and then finally eating all of the food you just made. We also make sure there is time for questions, chatting amongst the group, and a few drinks!

Do we eat the food that we make in class?
You sure do! Our classes are not food demos. They are very interactive and we NEED you to eat all of the food you make otherwise we’d be living on it for days. But also you deserve to eat everything you spent all your energy making. So come hungry!
